Kadin: The Cave (week 1)

This week we took what Kadin learned in doing his first song and carried it over seamlessly to his second one! You can tell it has really stuck with him and he's really understanding it. He did so well today!

We added a few placements as we started developing his "pop" voice. These placements can and will be used in all genres that we sing - they are just exaggerated when we sing "pop" making this specific genre an awesome way to learn them in a hurry!

We added "Darla" on our high notes, pushing our voice even more forward.
We added "punchy" on the bottom, cutting our words off while adding energy to make sure we stay in the pocket of the song (keep up with the timing), and adding style without adding vibrato or our "sing-y" voice that we used to.

In our vocal exercises - we're working on Kadin's range and ear training (matching pitch).

This week:
We vocalized on: hooty, lip buzz, humming, me-ee, yah-ahh, oh-ah.

We worked on:
- High notes!! Making sure that Kadin is hitting them safely. (Darla placement)
- Talking it out. Keeping our forward placement. Making it more comfortable - and making sure it transfers over to another song so that we learn the technique - and not just the trick.

Things to remember:
- Keep it punchy
- Sing it through your teeth (brighten it up)
- darla on the high notes.
- don't think of singing. Just talk it out for now.

Before --> End of our lesson.
