Olivia: Love you like i can (week 2)

Olivia did awesome today!
We moved from tricks/ things that are very song-specific to learning more techniques that we can use regardless of the song. These techniques will further improve your baseline (or all of your before videos) as well, so that we can in turn - work on MORE tricks and scats and fun things! Wahoo!

This week:
We vocalized on: humming, lip buzz, meee, yeee, wah-wah, oh-ah, (belt oh-ah), hooty, hooty- classical opera (for head voice), pinnochio sound.

We worked on:
-- We added "everybody's favorite" for a lot of the exercises
-- We worked a lot on belt/mix and the transition between them
-- We found our "bite" placement in our belt high notes. (getting small at the top)
-- We learned "chewing our words" as a style technique and how to make it sound heavy with the correct placement for dynamics and cool sounding tidbits

Before ---> End of lesson

Awesome job Olivia! You did so great today!

* Homework: vocalize whenever you have a minute on a VERY LIGHT lip buzz as high as you can go without hurting your voice. You could do this twice a day if you wanted. It will help your range and further your base-line voice. Keep your voice very light so we can push into it during voice lessons.

Woo! See you next week!
