This week we worked a lot on building our voice. We are building our forward placement in our low notes and high notes by starting out really soft. We do a lot of work in our vocal exercises to make sure that we're building our vocal muscles in a healthy way so that we can later put weight on them.
We vocalized on: humming, hooty, mmee, (a lot of hooty with building the intensity)
We worked on:
- Learning the difference between "lifting the bridge" (muscling our notes up with the incorrect placement -- making it sound forced and uncomfortable) and "going over the bridge" (switching into a correct placement that gives the voice a more "free" sound and in turn is healthier for your chords)
