- We worked on our awesome mix voice! Making sure that forward doesn't mean "loud" in our minds.
- We vocalized on: humming, lip buzz, me-me, yah-yah, oh-ah, everybody's favorite.
- This week we really focused on relaxing into our high notes.
- We also worked on some "song choreography" and adding character into our voice not just our actions
- We started warming up really high so that we knew we could hit notes far above what the song asked of us. Then we tackled our high notes first by going to the highest notes in the song and working through them. After we saw that we could hit them no problem we worked on the lower notes and the transition between them -- learning ways to make sure our voice stays forward as it goes up to keep the sound quality the same.
When Tatum sings high her brain tells her it should be harder - when her voice can totally nail the notes. We had to try and get her outside her head so that we could find a place both her mind and her voice were comfortable with.
She did so so well!!!
