Abby: Maybe (week 2)

This week:
This week we added scat exercises for Abby! In all of her warm up exercises we're pushing her voice farther and faster than her mind can realize so that when her brain understands the concepts a little better - her voice will be more than ready to go! She's doing some really advanced stuff! She calls it the "fast" or "hard" ones - and she's loving it!

We vocalized on: lip buzz, humming, me-me, yah-yah, oh-ah, everybody's favorite, mirror scat exercise

We worked on:

I introduced the "hi my name is abby" theory today. To make sure that Abby remains in a "talking" or forward placement, i stop her song every couple lines and have her say "hi, my name is Abby". Every time, we make sure the tone and quality of Abby's voice matches when she talks and when she sings. If it does - she keeps singing, if not - we start the song over. It has really helped Abby understand the placement!

We worked on smiling the whole time!! - This is getting much better too!

We said that next week, Abby will perform like she's on Broadway. I'm bringing my big camera and we're singing the whole song! She's very excited! To prepare for that, we took extra time making sure she was in the right placement this week!
