Emma: Oh holy night (week 1)

This week:

This week we started working on a Christmas song for our recital!! I'm so sad Emma wont be here for it! Now she'll have an awesome Christmas song to sing somewhere else! :)

We vocalized on: humming, lip buzz, me-me, yah-yah, ee

We worked on:

We used what we learned singing our last song, "on my own" for "oh holy night" as well! Our forward "ballad" placement - adding roundness to the front of our notes by dropping our jaw and singing it through all of our teeth.

We also worked a lot on our mix voice! We backed off the volume at the beginning of our song to make sure we tackled it in the right placement - giving our brain one less thing to think about by making it softer.

We worked on relaxing our high notes. This is something that is just hard. It's something a singer always has to work on -- we kept working on this by wiggling our head on the high notes - making sure that we aren't tightening our throats on the top.

Awesome job Emma!!! See you next week!!
