Emma: Oh holy night (week 3)

This week:

We worked on Emma mix voice, building her transition points, and soft belt.

Mix voice: we're continuing our work on building Emma's voice from a light place so that we can move it forward like a wall instead of like a Jenja game. Keeping her in our forward placement throughout her song is important so that she can stay relaxed and not hurt her voice - it will also help as she moves from one register to the next. It will make her sound more smooth and give her more control of her voice.

Transition points: the places that we move from one register to the next are our transition points. By strengthening these points, Emma's voice wont crack when she passes through them. It will also make singing feel and sound easier as she goes higher.

Soft belt: Because we're working on building all of Emma's voice to match the strongest parts of her voice - we've introduced "soft belt" into her bag of tricks. This allows her to sing with power and keep her voice forward without pushing into it. She will like the way it sounds a lot better in soft belt than in a transition head/mix low voice.

She's doing so awesome!!
