Emma: On my own (week 3)

This week:

This week Emma was still recovering a little bit from her concussion at soccer.

We continued to work on her dynamics and maintaining her forward placement while singing softer.

We vocalized on: Humming, me-me, yah-yah, oh-ah, hooty

We worked on:

Adding roundness so her talking placement doesn't sound so harsh - learning the difference between a character song and a musical theater ballad like "On my own"

Her mix voice! We're working a lot on smoothing the transition between Emma's chest voice and her head voice - Adding her mix voice with exercises and now in her song!

We worked a lot on relaxing into her high notes and "warming up her mind".  She panics when hitting a high note that she's more than warmed up for, so we did exercises to "trick" her mind into singing the high notes like she would sing any other note. This increases her range and allows her to save her vocal chords.
