Olivia Bagley: When will my life (week 3)

This week:

We vocalized on: humming, me-me, yah-yah, hooty.

This week we worked a lot on the thinking side of singing for Olivia!

We introduced "singing monsters" - the sound our brains tell us is singing! - and learned how to get around them!

We did a lot of work in our warm up exercises - building Olivia's mix voice and head voice - making sure she can (and that she knows she can) hit notes far above those in her song.

Then - we had Olivia focus on the character of her song - and lots of wiggling! We used both of these things to try and get Olivia's vocal chords to let go of the tension she was singing with - freeing up not only high notes, but making the low notes sound more natural as well!

She did so awesome! We watched her before/after videos at the end of our lesson and she was very impressed :) (as was I!)

Before/End of our lesson

Great job Olivia!! See you next week!!

** Next week is new song week!! Because the song selection has made such a difference - you always sing better (and want to sing more) when you choose a song you love - find a couple that you really like and we'll try them all! Or you can bring just one that you know you want to work on - either way!
