Olivia: Part of your world (week 2)

This week:

This week we worked on: introductions, choreography, stage techniques, our forward placement, adding energy in our song, and relaxing into our high notes.

We vocalized on: humming, hooty, me-me, be-be, be-ee, yah-yah

Introductions/stage techniques: Today we started preparing even more for our recital! We started every song with Olivia introducing herself and her song - forcing her to practice what most people forget to - the very beginning of their performance! By repeating this we're trying to create a familiarity for Olivia so when it comes time to perform, it will help calm her nerves.

We also worked on a few stage techniques along with her cute choreography using body shifts and projecting to the back rows.

Adding energy to our song/relaxing into our high notes: Finding the balance between these two things is tricky, especially when our voices under stress tend NOT to relax. Today we worked on making the verses exciting by talking some of the words, and making sure our transitions don't die between the times we're singing. We also wiggled A LOT getting Olivia used to relaxing into the highest notes in her song.

She did awesome!! She's going to be so great at our recital!!

Before/End of our lesson:

Great job Olivia!!!! See you next week!
