Walker: When we were young (week 1)

This week:

This week we worked on a new Adele song - Walker applied everything from his last Les Mis song that we did from the very beginning of this lesson! He started in such an awesome place, we were able to teach him some new stuff that was so great for his voice!

We worked on: widening his vowels, and continued to find our forward "ballad" placement.

Widening his vowels: This week we mapped out our song to show walker not only what our forward placement FEELS like but what it actually LOOKS like as far as pronunciation.

It looked like this:

Everybody loves the things you DEW
From the way you taaaaaah --lk
To the way you MEEEEWWVE
Everybody here is watching YEEWW
Cause you feel like haaah-ome
You're like a dream come treeeewww
But if by chance you're here alaahhhh- one
Can I have a momahhnt
Before I gohhh
Cause I've been by myself all night lahhhhng
Hoping you're someone I used to knaaahhh w

You look like a movaaaaayyy
You sound like a SAAAAAAHHHH - NG
My God, this reminds maaayyy
Of when we were YAAAAHHHH NG

Let me photograph you in this LAAAAAHHH GT
In case it is the last TAAAAHHHH ME
That we might be exactly like we WAAAHHHH RE
Before we REALAAAAHHHZED
We were sad of getting OHHHHHLD
It made us RESTLAAAHHSS
It was just like a movAAAYY

It was just like a sAAAAHHHNG

This helped a lot with our forward ballad placement because Walker could follow the guide easily, visualizing his voice forward while seeing what it would sound like without having to make it up in his head.

He did AWESOME! It made his song so much easier for him! His high notes are back with gusto!! He's working so hard. I'm so proud of him.
