We continued to work on some things:
- keeping it forward, keeping it bright, making sure to sing through our teeth.
BUT we worked on A TON of new stuff!
- We started working heavily on style and vocal production
- we worked on our blues/belt place with depth in the front of it
In our style:
We worked on widening and lengthening Erin's vowels so that her sound could find that big Adele sound. We did this by aiming her sound wider by adding "ah" to her vowels. Softened her consonants int he middle of her words and hit them hard at the beginning of her words.
We added dynamics to her song by shortening words in certain sections - giving it a more produced feel.
We worked a lot on swing rhythms and scoopy belt to make Erin's song sound more bluesy.
She seriously did SO INCREDIBLY WELL!!!!
Her best lessons ever!!! I'm so proud of her!
Here are her videos:
This week we widened her vowels, moved her placement slightly forward and rounded it out at the front to give it some depth, worked on style, vocally produced it line by line:
This week we lightened things up to work on more dynamics in Erin's voice - we had her lighten up the verse and build it as it got closer and closer to the chorus so that her highest point with pressure, volume, and depth was the chorus:
