Tag: Summer (week 2)

This week:

This week Tag just blew my socks off! He showed up with all of his words memorized, remembered our list of things to work on last time - AND started asking really great questions when he didn't understand something!

We found out that last week Tag didn't fully understand our "keeping it forward" placement. Because of this, we started our lesson out by teaching him the difference.
I had him sing me his song in a place that was back in his throat - i showed him what this sounded like, had him imitate it and then tell me what it felt like. Then, I had him sing it so he "sounded like tag" - singing so that it sounded the way his voice sounded when he talked. I showed him what this sounded like and then had him imitate it and tell me what THIS one felt like. Then, i had him go back and forth on different parts of the song showing me the difference.
He is one smart cookie! I had him explain "keeping it forward" and "talking it out" before we moved on.

This week, on top of our list from last week, we added our belt triangle for Tag's high notes. We elongated his vowels and widened his placement when he went into his big high notes, shaping his mouth like a triangle - with the smile at the top! This will help him sound bigger on the high notes, and help him place them in a way to not hurt his throat when singing them over and over again.

He did SO great!
