Ella Huss: Temporary home (week 1)

This week:

This week we worked on: Ella's transitions from belt to head voice, strengthening and thickening her mix/head placement, bringing her low notes bright and forward, not over-singing as a style technique,  and adding breathiness and texture.

Transitions from Belt to Head voice:
The natural place our voices go when transitioning into our head voice is a place that is further back in our throat that makes the sound very thin. It makes it sound like someone is going from 0-60 with their dynamics really fast with nothing in between. We are working on building Ella's head/mix voice so that this thin sound thickens up, sounds more full and natural, and that her transitions can happen without breaking.

Low notes/verses:
For Ella's verses and low notes we simplified the sound to make it sound more commerical. We took out vibratto, added breathiness, and moved to more of a conversational or talking place with her voice. We worked on not over singing the parts of the song that are supposed to sound simple - and using that simplicity as a style choice.
We also brightened up her low notes, making her sound more pop and commerical as well.

She did awesome!!!
