Olivia Bagley: Stitches (week 2 + 3)

This week:

This week we continued to work on our pop placement!
We continued to: Thin out (or speed up) Olivia's voice, we added our "pop box", worked on scats, and continued to work on the punchy-ness.

Pop box:
When singing pop music - we have to approach our forward placement a little bit differently. Our regular forward placement mimics the way that we talk. As we take this placement to the extreme with pop - we cut out some of the tone and "natural talking" sounds, make it much smaller, and focus it even more in the top 1/3 of our mouths. You could think of it as singing like a chipmunk - keeping the high end of the voice, while dropping the low end so that it doesn't muddy up the sound when you speed things up and it doesn't slow you down.

Scats:
We added more difficult scats to help Olivia's voice get in even better cardio vascular shape (or be able to sing all the quick notes that come in pop).

Olivia is doing so so great!!
