2. Moving our voice a little bit more forward/widening our vowels
Staying in the pocket:
Today we worked on being able to keep up with the song even when it is fast! I had Tag use his fingers to emphasize the timing of the song - one finger hit forward = one syllable. By doing this - his brain was able to make out the timing while being able to focus on other things at the same time. (It's really hard to get off the rhythm of the song when you are tapping it out) We also used this to remind tag to keep his voice forward and happy, emphasizing the words as he tapped them out to make sure he didn't fall back in between.
Moving forward/Widening vowels:
We worked on making a few words "bigger" in each phrase - or widening the vowel on "bear necessities", "worries", "mean", "life" to make sure the word doesn't fall back or sound muffled or unfinished. By widening these words or "making them bigger and smilier" (as we worked on with Tag) - we open up the whole song, making it sound bigger and more in control!
Here are our videos from today!
Before/End of our lesson:
GREAT job Tag! I was so impressed with you today! See you soon buddy!
