Tag Edwards: Bear Necessities (week 1)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Relaxation: mah-mah, hum, be-be
Range extension: Yay-yay, nayaya

We worked on:
1. Bring it forward/ Talk it out/ sound like tag
2. Separate our words to add character
3. Smile!

Today was a great reminder lesson for Tag!! We made sure that he applied everything that we had learned with our last song "Summer" to our new song "Bear Necessities"! He spent some time picking a new song today - next week we will be able to do even more with our time! He did so awesome!
It is SO GREAT to have him back!!!

Bring it forward/Separate the words
We talked a lot about starting to sing from a place that is more talked for a couple reasons - the first was so that he sounded bright and happy! (To move his voice into a place that's easier for him to control the pitch and energy of the song.) The second reason was to add character to the song! By separating the words - acting as though there was a comma between each one - it not only helps with pitch, but it allows Tag to add things to each word that he misses when he sings right through them.

Range extension
With our warm ups we're also working on building Tag's mix voice so that he can sing high notes without hurting his voice!

Here are our videos!

Before/End of our lesson:

Great job Tag!!! See you next week!
