Anna Davis: Fight song (week 1)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, nay-yay,
We worked on:
1. Resetting our forward placement for a new song
2. Separating our words for maximum control (continued)

Resetting our forward placement for a new song
When learning new placements and changing the way we sing - the first few songs are the hardest and most important. As we build muscle memory and change the way our brain thinks about singing, we have to reset with each new song as we try and settle into our forward placement again - remembering the techniques vs. how it felt when singing our first song simply based on habit and pronunciation.
When resetting for a new song - we go over all the fundamentals of our forward placement: singing through our teeth, talking it out, throwing each word forward, and not letting singing monsters (or our bad habits) come back into our song.

Separating our words for maximum control (continued)
We also worked on making sure we separate our words to help with pitch and controlling how we sing every word. It keeps us in the pocket of the song (helps us keep time), and lets us reset into our forward placement with each word.

Anna did awesome!
