Anna Davis: Fight Song (week 2)

This week:

We vocalized on:
mah-mah, nay-yay, be-be
We worked on:
1. Rhythm/ Staying in the pocket
2. Performance technique/ Microphone technique

Rhythm/ Staying in the pocket
Today we worked on Anna's timing in her songs. The 2 things that, when off, the naked ear can pick up in a song are pitch and timing - if you are too fast or too slow for the song you're singing, or too high or low from the note that you are supposed to be singing - the song is thrown off. Today we worked on this rhythm and timing issue by counting out our song slow at first - and then faster and faster. While counting out our song we also had to physically tap out the rhythm on the table in front of us making sure that Anna could hear the beats, match the beats, and then sing the beats.
Rhythm is hard to master! Anna did so great working on it today!

Performance technique/ Microphone technique
Today we also worked on performing! As we continue with voice lessons, we are going to add more and more external things on top of our baseline placements (rhythm, style, microphone technique, choreography). We will add them slowly, making sure that Anna maintains her placements and vocal technique and that it doesn't change when she has to focus on more things other than her placement!
Here are our videos from today!

Before/End of our lesson:

Great job Anna! See you soon!
