Hannah Engel: Here i am to worship (week 2)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, nay-yay, be-be, "hi my name is hannah"

We worked on:
1. Moving to a more conversational place
2. Lengthening and brightening vowels

Moving to a more conversational place
Today we started moving Hannah's forward placement to a more conversational place - taking off the rough edges of our "hit the wall", or extreme version, of our forward placement that we started with last week. We still want Hannah to feel our new placement - and how it is different than the way she came in singing, but now we want this placement to feel a little bit more comfortable for her. By rounding off these edges - Hannah starts to sound more and more like she is singing in a natural way.
We go slow like this so that Hannah never has the opportunity to go backwards, it keeps her moving forward (with both her progress and with her voice).

We are building Hannah's voice to be as strong and powerful as her talking voice - working on range extension so that she can comfortably sing her high notes - and brightening her sound so that it sounds happier and more commercial!

Lengthening and brightening vowels
We also started lengthening Hannah's vowels - connecting the words more and more to move her to a more melodic place - and brightening her sound by having her sing through her teeth - pushing the sound through our forward placement even more.

She did SO great!!!
Here are our videos from today!

Before/End of our lesson:
