Hannah Engel: When will my life (week 2)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, Nay-yay (used a ball as a secondary focus)

We worked on:
1. Range Extension/ Building
2. Character development + Musical theater placement (cont.)

Range Extension/ Building
In our vocalization exercises, we are working hard to extend Hannah's range - while making sure she relaxes her voice to prevent her from hurting her vocal cords. We are also working on building Hannah's voice so that she has a big powerful voice across her low and high registers!! We are doing this by repetition, adding lots of movement (for relaxation of her cords), and continuously moving her voice forward to a natural talking place!

Character development + Musical theater placement (cont.)
Today we continued our work on our character musical theater placement! Today was great - Jake was at our lesson, which made Hannah nervous, which made her brain switch to survival mode for singing. This was such an awesome thing because we got to work on the part of Hannah's placement (and brain) that is the default (or what happens when she is entirely focused on something else) - and we got to change it! We worked on making sure that Hannah maintained her forward placement, separated her words, kept her performance technique in tact - using big gestures and character- like movement (princess hands, bigger actions), and kept her energy up!
This is getting easier and easier for Hannah!! She is working so hard! She's doing awesome!!

Here are our videos from today!

Before/End of our lesson:

See you soon!!
