Performance prep - Check list "tomorrow":

Because we only have 4 lessons left until our Fall concert we are deep in our performance prep mode and getting ready to rock! Today we started our song checklist - going through every aspect of one song at a time until we feel like all of our questions are answered, all of our reminders set, and the song is 100% ready to go - before moving on to our next song. We need to make sure we know what we're doing vocally (with our placement), what we're doing with our hands, feet, body and microphone to feel ready to perform. We started with "Tomorrow".

a. Choreography
We started getting in the groove of our performance choreography while we warmed up, moving our bodies through our "quarter back shuffle" (our feet choreography to open up a stage), hand movement, and microphone technique (placement and drops). We worked through this choreography in "Tomorrow" making sure Ella knew exactly what she was doing with her body. We will continue to work on this for the next few weeks! She did so awesome!!

b. Placement
For the placement for "Tomorrow" we worked on REALLY keeping our voice forward and a little bit squeaky so that our transitions between our belt, mix, and head voice are smooth, seamless, and tension free! We will keep working on maintaining this forward placement so that Ella doesn't have to worry about the high or low notes at all come performance day!

Performance prep - Black Magic
Our second song, "Black magic" - is a group song.
a. Choreography/ interaction
We worked on the stage choreography - making sure to move, add rhythmic movement with both our feet and our hands (because the song is fast), and making sure to interact with Tatum while singing so it looks like the group number is on purpose!

b. Placement
The placement we worked on for place magic is our pop box placement! Keeping our words squeaky and short!

Ella did so awesome today!! She's going to be so great at our performance!!

Here are our videos from today!
Great job Ella!!! See you next week!
