Hannah Rivera: Lost boy (week 3)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, Nay-yay
We worked on:
1. Moving to a more melodic place!

Moving to a more melodic place!
Today we worked on moving our forward "talking it out" placement to a more melodic place (one that sounds and feels more like singing). We started our lesson by going over what we had learned and worked on in our first 2 lessons - and followed the progression to build up Hannah's brain to get her to the place we needed her. We sang through her song in a purely talked place (week 1), several times - reacquainting Hannah's brain with the strange feeling of our forward placement. Then, we started to move to our more conversational place (week 2), by softening the pronunciation of our words a little bit. Then, finally, we worked on relaxing into our talked place entirely so that our pronunciation became a little bit wider (to take out any harsh edges left), and making each line sound a little bit more melodic - or sing-y.

It's important that we go through these steps our first few lessons so that Hannah's "singing monster" or bad/unhealthy habits become something she can feel as she sings. Moving through our placements in this way allow her to differentiate between the two.

She did so great!!

Here are our videos from today!

Before/End of our lesson:

Great job Hannah! See you next week!
