Tatum Edwards: Performance prep! (Black magic/ I know it's today)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, nay-yay, mah-yah

We worked on:
1. Getting back into voice lessons!

Getting back into voice lessons!
Today we worked on getting Tatum's brain and voice back into the swing of things with voice lessons. We worked on each one of Tatum's songs that she is performing in our Fall concert and refreshed her memory (and her vocal cords) about the different placements for each song - each specific things we focused on when switching between the placements - varying performance techniques for the different songs - and then went through parts of each song she wanted to focus extra hard on.

Good morning baltimore/ I know it's today: With our first song and our last song, we are working primarily on making sure that Tatum separates her words for both pitch accuracy and her ability to maximize the amount of character she can fit into the song! Keeping her words separate (or only focusing on one at a time) will help her brain control and manipulate each syllable easier.

Black Magic: With our fast pop song - we are making sure that Tatum keeps her words nice and short and that they feel and sound extra squeaky, taking all of the bass out of her voice in order to increase agility (or the ability to sing very quickly). With these 2 things, Tatum will be able to stay in the pocket (or keep up with the music) easily, and maintain pitch and tone quality through out the song.

Tatum did so awesome!! I'm so glad to have her back!!!

Here are our videos from today!

Great job Tatum!! See you next week!
