Abigail Aldridge: Stitches (week 3)

This week:

We vocalized on:
Mah-mah, Nay-yay

We worked on:
1. Pitch accuracy
2. Talking it out, smiling!
3. Microphone Technique

Pitch accuracy
Today we worked really hard on 4 things. We started with our pitch accuracy - making sure that each note is approached in a way that allows our brain to process it correctly. In order to do this, we focus on each syllable being separate from the rest. We separate our words and syllables to take out the complicated string of notes that our brain has a hard time processing.

The more we separate these syllables - the easier they are to control, and the better the pitch is.

Talking it out, smiling!
The second thing we worked on, was making sure that Abigail's placement was correct and that she could feel that it was correct. We worked hard on making sure that she talked out our song and was smiling the whole time (to brighten her sound and push her placement forward).

Microphone Technique
The last thing we added today was our baseline microphone technique when dealing with a dynamic microphone (one you use to sing live). When singing into a directional mic like this one, position is super important. If you aim the mic with the head facing up - instead of directly at your mouth, you wont hear the singer! We worked on making sure Abigail had this mic technique down!

Here are our videos from today!

Before/End of our lesson:

Great job Abigail! See you soon!
