Checklist! Today we continued to work on our Fall concert! We started by talking about Saturday's group practice - what was great, and what we wanted to work on in this lesson to make this next Saturday even better! We first talked about what Ella thought she did great - she said she really liked how she performed, sang, and felt singing "like i can" on Saturday! She felt like her performance was big, her placement was correct - and she felt like she did awesome! The thing she wanted to work on this week was making sure that 1. She was warmed up and in the right placement for Tomorrow to make sure it was easy for her to sing and her high notes were free and strong and 2. That she knew and was comfortable with the choreography of "Dear Future Husband" We started with "Tomorrow": we worked on our placement for 10-15 minutes, making sure that Ella widened her vowels and made her sound squeakier as she got higher. We made sure that she was relaxing her vocal cords as she hit her big finish notes - and I gave Ella a few extra warm ups to do before our next practice to make sure she felt extra warmed up. With Dear Future Husband - we talked about the choreography and then practiced it 4 times in a row to make sure Ella had it down. I told Ella that this Saturday she was in charge of the crew - making sure they all know it, that they match, and they're ready to go! We then worked through Ella's checklists - making sure she feels 100% ready to go for not only this Saturday's practice - but our performance! She did awesome!
