Today we had Jay start on his audience prep! We worked on his song for the first 30 minutes of his lesson - and then brought in 5 people to watch him perform! He did so awesome under pressure!!
Before any big performance - it's important for all my students to feel the nerves that come with performing in front of other people. We never want them to show up the day of the performance and feel any new emotions - or any version of nerves, panic, or surprise. We want to get to the day of our concert and feel like we've prepared for every scenario! Teaching all my students how to sing when they're nervous is a big part of our performance prep so that they know how to handle the nerves when they come!
Performance checklist!
We also worked on our performance checklist! Making sure that Jay talked his words, that he pushed every word forward and through his teeth, that he smiled, that he held his microphone the right way, and that he performed his song nice and big!
