Today we worked at the piano on matching pitch and keeping different rhythms! We started with one pitch (middle C) and singing on mah-mah-mah, then switching to "1-2-3". We clapped out different rhythms slowly at first and then got a little bit quicker as Abigail got the hang of them!
We then moved to matching pitch with 3 notes in a row and adding rhythm to those notes by clapping them out! We then replaced the clapping with our finger gun motions of separating notes, syllables, and rhythms by pointing our fingers and hitting them forward one at a time on each note.
We worked our way up to a full 8 note scale!
Abigail did great!
Adding it to our song
We then moved everything we worked on into our song! We first clapped out each line - making sure the rhythm and pitch were correct. Then, we replaced our clapping with our throwing finger motions.
