Estelle Bookwalter: Gio Sol da Gange (week 1+2)

This week:

We vocalized on:
mah-mah, mm-mah, nay-yay, wh-ee, lip buzz

We worked on:
1. Back Space
2. Expanding the tone/ Getting a bigger sound

Back Space
This week, we starting preparing for Estelle's BYU, Julliard, and All-State auditions! We started on our first song: Gia il sole de gange!

We are working on our classical placement - opening up Estelle's sound, and changing the concentration of her tone so that it has backspace (or so that her soft pallet is lifted in such a way that it takes out any piercing sound in her highest notes, and makes her overall sound bigger. We do this by focusing on the "yawn place" in our mouth placement - expanding the roof of our mouth both up and out so that the tone has more space to fill in our mouth. We smile from the back of our mouth to the front, and we aim or project our sound forward, keeping it bright and our vowels wide.

Estelle is doing awesome!

Here are our videos from today!
