Today we worked on knocking off more rough edges from our "hit the wall" placement. We worked on moving our forward placement to an even more conversational place (or place that feels more melodic, more natural, and one that sounds more like singing). We did this by going through each of our steps we have in our first 2 lessons - talking it out, separating our words, smiling, throwing our words through our teeth - and then connecting our words while focusing on maintaining the forwardness of our placement!
Now that Madeline knows what our baseline or "forward" placement feel like - she will be able to make adjustments so much easier as we get into harder and harder vocal technique!
She did SOOOOO WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has worked her brains out in these first 3 lessons - doing exactly every crazy technique I've been teaching her, and it has paid off!! Her improvement has been incredible because of her commitment and work ethic! I appreciate her so much!!
Audience prep
At the end of our lesson, I brought down a few audience members to start on Madeline's audience prep (so that she gets used to singing and performing in front of people). We will do this quite frequently throughout our lessons to train Madeline's brain how to deal with stress and singing in stressful situations when she's nervous! She did so great!!!
