Tatum Edwards: Thinking out loud (week 2)

This week:

We vocalized on:

We worked on:
1. Scatting
2. Pop Ballad Placement (continued)

Scatting

Today we worked on style and scatting!!! Scatting is HARD.
To start, we worked on separating our notes the same way we would our words to gain maximum control of each note. Then, we started off slow, hitting each of the notes individually so that Tatum's brain could hear each note in the scat, and slowly sped the scat up until it was up to speed with our song!

Tatum did awesome!!!!!!

Pop Ballad Placement (continued)
We also continued to work on our pop ballad placement - making sure that our placement was a little bit more forward than usual especially on the high notes that come out of nowhere ("people fall in love", "maybe just the touch"). We worked on approaching these notes from an extremely squeaky place to control the pitch of them a little bit more (because they are harder to hit given their context in the song).

Tatum did so great today!
Here are our videos from today!
