This week:
- We vocalized on: humming, yayaya, yeyeye, tongue all the way out, a-ah.
- This week we worked heavily on placement and making sure we approach our high notes from the right place so that we don't hurt our voice.
- We are working on brightening the sound so that it's a great place for musical theater - to do this we go to a "mah mah mah" or "chipmunk" place to accomplish the bright musical theater belt safely.
- We worked on smiling on every word to further brighten the sound and maintain the placement.
- We worked on adding energy to our voice and actions : "training for broadway"
Things to remember:
- Make sure you get in the right place on a soft high note and then push into it from there instead of muscling it up from the bottom.
- Make sure you smile through out the whole song, with every word.
- Make sure you sing in an over-compensated munchkin place to get yourself in the right placement -- we'll open it from there to get to our "Lea Michelle" sound.
