Ella: Popular (week 3)

Ella really let loose today! AND! We made a discovery that led to a breakthrough!

Trying to wiggle Ella out of being stage-self conscious, we worked on having fun on stage! Using the whole stage and staying in character!
We learned the difference between performing for a camera in lessons where little gestures are seen and subtle changes are caught - to being on a stage --- especially a musical theater stage! For this kind of performance we can't take the low part of our dynamics down that low. We have to find another way to show range. (You'll see it especially in lines like "and even in your case" and "you will be")

We figured out that Ella is a choreography girl! She's much more comfortable when we map out the whole song instead of generalize actions and just think of "doing it big and energetic". Wahoo!

This week:

We vocalized on: humming, hooty, me-me, me-ee, yah-yah, yah-ahh

We worked on:
- Energy and keeping it big!
- Moving our voice to an exaggerated musical theater place and staying there! Almost a nasal forward place! It helps with character a ton!
- Making sure our placement and character go hand in hand - the placement helps the energy and vice-versa

Before --> End of our lesson

Awesome job Ella! See you soon!

* Next week is new song week!
