This week we worked on scats, song dynamics, character, and singing like we talk!
We vocalized on: lip buzz, me-me, yah-yah, everybody's favorite, oh-ah, mirror scat.
We worked on:
Scats: In Abby's warm up exercises we keep pushing her to do "the hard ones" - as she calls them. We're pushing her voice pretty hard but she's getting it! She's doing awesome!
Song dynamics: We worked on different parts of the character of Anna for different parts of the song, making sure that it stayed in the right placement - but still sounded a little different depending on what she was singing.
Character: We paired this with song dynamics and had her act it out. It was adorable.
Singing like we talk: Our goal is always to have Abby sing like she talks. We stop periodically throughout the song and i have her say "hi, my name is Abby" to see if they match. This will keep her voice in an awesome place - not the soft timid voice or the yelling voice - but right in the middle! She gets better at this every lesson!
This is Abby's Christmas song that she wants to do at our performance/recital in December! It's going to be great!
