This week i promised Abby that we could be on Broadway. We worked on actions, smiling, and making sure that we stayed in the right placement for the whole song!
We vocalized on: Lip buzz, humming, me-me, yah-yah, oh-ah, everybody's favorite, mirror scat exercise, happy scale scat exercise.
We continued with her scatting - that's getting better by the week!
We worked on:
Hi my name is Abby! - She is really understanding this placement which is fantastic! We stop her song every couple lines and make sure that it sounds the same as her talking voice. She has gone from thinking she needs to shout the words to "talk it out", to thinking she needs to separate every word to "talk it out" to now understanding that it's a different place we sing. She's catching on so quickly!!
** This week her voice was a little bit strained. She told me that she lost her voice because she was yelling at Joshy. Which i totally understood. So we took lots of water breaks to make sure she didn't hurt her vocal chords.
