Ella: I won't give up (week 1)

This week:

We vocalized on: humming, lip buzz, me-me, be-be, yah-yah.

This week we picked a song for our recital. Because Ella had already performed the song that we started with, we decided to go with a different one.

This week we moved our forward placement to a more conversational place. We're still working on Ella feeling her voice in a different way, until the muscle memory is there we will continue to perfect this. Because Ella has such awesome style naturally in her voice - she relies a lot on it to carry her songs. Because of this we're taking it COMPLETELY out - for now - to get her voice in shape technically. As she learns these techniques she will have more control of her voice, and her style will sound even better than before!

We're working on redirecting her sounds and rewiring her brain to send her voice and air flow to the natural place for our body - forward. I have Ella remind herself of this placement and movement with a lot of forward arm movement.

We mapped out Ella's song so that she not only FEELS her new forward placement - but that she also can SEE what it looks like:

It looked like this:

When I look into yAHHHHr AHHH- yes
It's like watching the nAHght skAAAHHHYYes
Or a beautiful sunrAAHHHHse
There's so much they hOOOHHHHHLD
And just like them old stAHHHHHHRS
I see that you've come so fAAHHHHHR
To be right where you aAAAAAAHRE
How old is your sOOOOHL?

I won't give up on AHHHs, even if the skies get rAHHHH FF
I'm giving you all my lAHHHve, I'm still looking ahhhp

She did great!
