Erin: Pulled (week 2)

This week:

This week we continued to work on our song for our recital and for musical auditions!

We worked on: our hover-board/musical theater placement, adding character into our song, and relaxing into our high notes.

Our hover-board/musical theater placement/relaxing into our high notes: As we continue with lessons, Erin is learning how to manipulate her voice in a million different ways. Now that she has our first base placement down - our forward placement - we continue to challenge her by manipulating it further for different songs and genres. Today we worked on widening our vowels to take it from a pop-like sound to a more musical theater one.

When singing our high notes, we continued to find safe ways to approach them. Relaxing before, checking Erin's placement, and making sure she wasn't hurting herself. We added some shakes and wiggles to help!

Adding character to our song: We worked on the style of the song as we added this new placement - taking out vibrato for a lot of it, and adding character in the voice. She did so wonderful!!!

Before/End of our lesson:

Awesome job Erin!!!! You did SOOOO well today!! See you next week!!
