Today we continued our work on extending Maggie's belt and mix ranges! We specifically focused on our transitions or the bridges in our vocal range where the pressure on our chords needs to change - between our chest voice and our mix voice and between our mix voice and our head voice. We use these transitions in our song "Titanium" several times as we move from the verses to the chorus and through out the chorus. It's important as we approach these transitions that we do so in a healthy way so Maggie doesn't hurt her voice - we start in our belt or chest voice - making sure that even at the bottom, there is a smallness and forward placement to our voice to aim it in the right direction and help with the consistency of sound all the way up. Then, we bring down Maggie's mix voice (adding our Pinnochio placement a little bit lower than necessary) and then slowly push into it with both power and volume making sure to keep ur voice nice and forward, and add lots of neck and head movement to keep our cords relaxed. Then, as we approach our mix and head voice notes - we make sure to keep our forward placement consistent so that the tone quality stays the same (as opposed to the different parts of our range sounding like completely different voices).
