Checklist! Today we continued to work on our Fall concert! I'm so glad Abby was at our practice on Saturday - because she has one more time than she would have to prepare by getting comfortable in front of people, seeing how she performs and sings when she's nervous - and she has one more practice to perfect that even more! We talked on Saturday as a group where each student had to say what their best song of the day was, why, and what they wanted to work on in their lessons this week. Abby said her best song was "At last I see the light" because she performed it how she was supposed to - with big actions, happy voice, and sounding like a princess (or using our musical theater character techniques to bring character into the sound). She said she wanted to work on her "pop box" placement and performance of her other songs. So. Today, we started with "You belong with me" - went over our checklist of everything we needed to do in order for this song to be perfect, and Abby sang through it several times until we were able to cross everything off of her checklist! We are working hard to make sure Abby performs the way she sings and performs in her lessons! I gave Abby a challenge for this Saturday's group lesson - to try and be the biggest performer at the show! She did awesome today!
