Staying in the pocket Today we worked hard on staying in the pocket - or making sure that we can keep up with the music and that the song doesn't sound too fast for us! The way that we do this, is we shorten our words, and focus on separating each syllable so that we can process the words like we would if we were talking them. We use our visual reminders - assigning one hand gesture per syllable to help our brain slow the words down.
Punchy style We also worked on adding some style to make the song a cross between musical theater and pop. To do this, we focused first on making sure we talked-out our words, (bringing our placement forward), then, we emphasized our consonants - making the sound "punchier" and more pop! Abby did awesome today!
